How do the happiest people carry on when they lose someone special? They don't focus on loss. They grow to fill the void. Here's what that means and how it's done.
This is a great post Alvin with a very unusual approach to thinking about, and dealing with, the loss of loved ones in our lives. Your thinking really resonates as a potentially worthwhile approach to managing grief, and I'm going to forward your post to somebody I know who is really struggling with the recent loss of a family member.
Thank you for sharing this interesting and hopeful approach to an event we all dread!
To be clear, it's never easy to lose a loved one. I just presented one approach. And it's not easy either. Grief is normal and expected. I was just reflecting on a way to live a healthy life in spite of it.
Sure--of course--you were very sensitive about grieving in your article, Alvin. But your concept is positive, actionable and seems like a very constructive way to manage the grief we feel when we lose someone special and feel a hole in our lives. Your post is excellent.
